Welcome to Haugh of Urr Nursery

Haugh of Urr Nursery is a small, committee run nursery delivering pre-school education and care to children aged between 3 years and 5 years, with service also available for eligible 2 year olds. We serve the immediate community of the Haugh of Urr, from the Castle Douglas and Dalbeattie area, and much further afield. We are very well supported by our neighbouring school and local community in all that we do.

About our space...

Our playroom is bright and welcoming.

We follow the Hygge approach to early learning and childcare, using natural resources, light, soft furnishings and cosy corners to create a relaxed

comforting environment for your child to play and learn.

Our resources are largely natural

resources and loose parts which encourage creativity and open ended play.

The size of the playroom allows friendships to blossom and encourages children to play together with the security of adult figures nearby.

Through play we aim to support your child’s educational, social and emotional development.
